We are all well although we know a few people who have lost their houses. We feel lucky that our block was empty in blackened Marysville – It used to be a picturesque place until mid afternoon yesterday. As of this morning it no longer seems to exist – certainly not in any recognizable state.

We are still to hear how bad it was in Marysville in terms of loss of life. We fear it is tragic. So far they have confirmed 35 in other fires around the state.

At least it is cool here again. 47 degrees like we had it yesterday is not a pleasant summer day.
